The popular annual event – StocktonCon – is returning to the Stockton Arena on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and July 14. Thousands of pop culture, sports fans, comic enthusiasts and collectors gather at the arena for a large expo. This year, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famers, legends and today’s stars will be on hand. Hall of Famers Kevin Nash, Sting and Charles Wright are scheduled to appear. Also scheduled to appear is “Indy GOD” and former WWE superstar Matt Cardona.

Nash became a household name in WWE in the mid-1990s when he was billed as “Diesel”. He was a bodyguard for Shawn Michaels. He became WWE champion when he defeated Bob Backlund at Madison Square Garden in less than ten seconds. In 1996 Nash left WWE for rival company World Championship Wrestling. He and real-life best friend Scott Hall formed the team “The Outsiders”. In July of 1996 Hulk Hogan shocked the world when he joined Hall and Nash and the trio became the founding members of the New World Order. In December of 1998 he defeated Bill Goldberg at Starcade to become the World Champion, ending Goldberg’s 173-match win streak. Nash returned to the WWE in 2002. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.

On Saturday, July 13 only, the icon Sting will return to StocktonCon. He first appeared in 2018. Considered as one of the greatest superstars in pro wrestling history, Sting began wrestling in the mid-1980s where he quickly became a household name for National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). He then began wrestling for WCW where he would have classic battles with legends Ric Flair, Vader, Rick Rude, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man and more. Sting went on to win the world heavyweight championship six times. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016. Sting will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 only.

Charles Wright went by many different personas during his wrestling career. In the WWE he went by Papa Shango; a voodoo witch doctor who would cast a hex on his opponents. His biggest feud was with Ultimate Warrior in 1992. In 1995 he wrestled under the gimmick Kama “The Supreme Fighting Machine”. He joined the faction Million Dollar Corporation with fellow Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase. His biggest feud was with The Undertaker. After a leave from WWE, he returned in 1997 where he joined The Nation of Domination under the name Kama Mustafa. In 1998 he became The Godfather and became a fan favorite. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.

Matt Cardona became a rising star in WWE in 2006 under the name Zack Ryder. He wrestled in WWE for nearly two decades. Since his departure in 2020 Cardona has gone on to reinvent himself on the independent wrestling circuit where he has become known as King of the Deathmatches and has his own podcast. He is also the CEO of Big Rubber Guys wrestling figures.
