The 2024 James Riddle Classic is scheduled for this weekend. Some 40 schools from throughout the state will be competing at Oakdale High School in the tourney.
“The Riddle is something we look forward to each year, luckily we have been able to bring in some of the top teams from around the state to compete,” said head coach Steve Strange.
Wrestling action is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.
This past weekend Oakdale competed in the Cossarek Classic held at Westminster High School. As a team Oakdale placed fourth overall with 194 points. First place went to St. John Bosco with 342. Placers in the tournament for Oakdale were Ezekiel Hernandez, 113, fifth; Jake Simmons, 120, third; Taylen Beck, 126, seventh; Jesse Meza, 144, second; Griffin Gerber, 150, eighth; Cody Soares, 165, seventh; Gideon Gerber, 175, second; Xander Birakos, 190, fifth; Matthew Cooley, 285, first.
