Water Polo Crafts Win, Volleyball Girls Take Loss

Oakdale High School boys water polo earned a Senior Day victory Saturday afternoon. On May 15, friends and family gathered inside the Oakdale Aquatic Center for the final time for the season. Prior to the boys’ 13-9 win over Atwater, Oakdale honored its six seniors. Kyle McIntosh, Lucas Hardy, Dyllon Jones, Lorenzo Klose, Jordan Womack and Jude Krick were all recognized by attendees.

In the winning effort, goalie Nick Dykzeul fired off a coast-to-coast goal from his own net to help power the Mustangs to victory. Lorenzo Klose had five goals for the Mustangs. Oakdale trailed 1-0 early in the first quarter but Jordan Womack and Kyle McIntosh each scored in the first to give Oakdale a 2-1 lead. The Mustangs opened things up in the second quarter as they outscored the visitors 5-2 to have a 7-3 halftime lead.

Meanwhile, the Oakdale volleyball girls fell to Escalon in action on the home court this week, the visiting Lady Cougars taking the win in three sets: 25-14, 25-15, 25-16.
