The 2018 Oakdale Stampede youth football season is rapidly approaching. The team will host its annual Round Robin on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Oakdale High School. Oakdale’s regular season is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Manteca when the Stampede squads take on the Manteca Raiders.
There are 12 teams in the CenCal Youth Football League and the Stampede teams are part of the American Football Conference. Last season the Varsity Stampede team claimed the Super Bowl championship by defeating the Merced Bears 49-26. A much anticipated Super Bowl rematch will take place week four at Merced. The Stampede will have their home season opener on Saturday, Sept. 1 against the Buhach Thunder inside The Corral. All home varsity games are held at 7 p.m. at Oakdale High School.
When the team is at home, the schedule is as follows: Rookies kickoff time is scheduled for 1 p.m., Pee Wee 3 p.m., Junior Varsity at 5 p.m. with the varsity squad closing out the games with their 7 p.m. kickoff.
Oakdale’s home schedule will feature Buhach Thunder (week two), Ceres Seahawks (week three), Merced Cougars (week five), Livingston Wolves (week six), Atwater Falcons (week seven). The team’s road schedule is yet to be determined.
The Oakdale Stampede youth football and cheer program was established in 2005.
