Practices are going on at all levels for the Oakdale Stampede youth football and cheer squads, as the program prepares for the fall season ahead. Here, varsity coach Stan Xavier gives instructions to a group of players, who listen intently about what the next drill will include. Saturdays in the fall feature a full slate of Stampede games, as the young gridders work hard to make the plays. Many have moved on to become Mustangs, continuing their football careers at Oakdale High School after learning the basics through the Stampede program.
