The Mustangs scored 21 points in the first quarter to set the tone early and pull away from the host Bulldogs. A 15-point effort by junior guard Noah Zepeda was key for Oakdale and freshman guard Bryce Busam added 16 points to help lead the Mustangs to victory. Freshman forward Jake Norris scored 11 points for Oakdale.

The lone goal in the contest came in the second half when Jason Arias found Dylan Krause for a Mustang goal in the road win.

Oakdale will enjoy some time off for the holidays and begin Valley Oak League play upon their return. The Mustangs will host Kimball on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at 5 p.m.

“We will continue to work hard in the next couple of weeks and be ready for league when it begins,” said Martinez.

As for the Oakdale High School girls soccer team, they were off this past week. They will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Ripon at 6 p.m.

Valley Oak League action for the girls begins Jan. 5, 2024 at 5 p.m. against Kimball.
