The summer of 2011 has broken new waves for the sport of water polo in the Oakdale community. For the first time in city history, 14-and-under and 12-and-under squads have seen huge participation during summer play. This stellar program progresses the growth of the sport each month, and even qualified three teams for the upcoming Junior Olympics.
The program’s big growth boom and continued success made for an easy collective selection as the Oakdale Leader Athlete of the Week.
With younger and younger athletes jumping into the pool each week, water polo should continue to thrive in a community that went undefeated in varsity water polo for both high school boys and girls last Fall.
Oakdale water polo coaches and athletes are on the verge of something big.
