Oakdale’s Lady Mustangs are putting together some very solid performances on the links this season.

Recently the team suited up for the Valley Oak League Tournament No. 2, which was hosted at Tracy Golf and Country Club. Oakdale competed against Mountain House, Sierra, Manteca, East Union and Patterson. Following 18 holes of action, it was Oakdale taking first place honors. The squad shot a 438 on the day. Mountain House placed second at 499. East Union (510), Manteca (545), Patterson (600) and Sierra (no score) rounded out the tournament. Hannah Herschbach (79); Bella Cortez (81); Brynlee McBride (88); Xcaret Duque (93) and Reagan Shatswell (97) took the course for the Lady Mustangs. Oakdale will travel to Manteca to face East Union on Thursday, Oct. 3.

 

WATER POLO - The boys fell to Ripon 18-4 on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and lost a Saturday contest to Golden Valley by a 14-11 final. Earlier, they crafted an 18-2 win over Patterson, on Sept. 23. They return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 2 against Manteca at 5 p.m. The girls suffered a 12-3 loss on Saturday at Beyer but started the week on a positive note with a Sept. 23 victory over Patterson, 15-0. The girls host Manteca on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

 

GIRLS TENNIS - Oakdale took on Patterson and Sierra this past week. Match scores were not available by press time. The Mustangs were to travel to take on Central Catholic on Oct. 1 and then resume play at home on Thursday, Oct. 3 against Manteca at 3:30 p.m.

 

VOLLEYBALL - Oakdale is currently on a road trip that began last week against both Central Catholic and Manteca. In a Sept. 24 match, the varsity Lady Mustangs lost by a 3-1 decision to Central, then were shut out two days later by Manteca, losing 3-0 on Sept. 26. This week they travel to Patterson to face the Tigers. That league game will be played on Thursday, Oct. 3.
