The annual Merced Invitational was played on Monday, Oct. 7 at Merced Country Club. With 18 teams competing, Oakdale’s varsity Lady Mustang golfers captured first place overall. As a team Oakdale shot 347 on the day through 18 holes.

Bella Cortes led the Mustangs with an 81. Xcaret Duque shot 86. Hannah Herschbach turned in an 89-stroke effort. Brynlee McBride shot a 91.

Rounding out the top five teams were El Capitan (377), Livingston (383), Livermore (388) and Hilmar (397).

Oakdale was scheduled to host the 2024 Valley Oak League Championship on Oct. 14, at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
