Wayne Morris Powell, 68, passed away July 6, 2023, at his home in Escalon, CA. He was an Escalon resident for the past 46 years. Wayne was born July 12, 1954, in Tracy, CA to parents John and Edythe Powell. As a truck driver most of his life, Wayne was employed at Modesto Steel for several years until his wife, Sheryl, started driving truck; from then on, they became a sleeper team driving together.

Wayne is survived by his ex-wife, Sheryl Powell; his sons, Travis Powell of Oakdale and Dallas Powell (Jennelle) of Turlock; siblings, Darrell Powell of Stockton, Gary Powell (Debbie) of Modesto and Cheryl Cardoza (Tony) of Manteca. He is also survived by his grandson, Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edythe; his sisters, Julie Schmidt and Janice Powell.
