Roberta (Robbins) Carver, a woman who embodied tenacity and love in equal measure, left us on November 8, 2024, at the age of 69, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Born on August 20, 1955, in Brownfield, Texas, Roberta was a lifelong firecracker; bringing her unique blend of spunk and sincerity to everyone she met.
Her family settled in Riverbank, CA in 1965 and she graduated from Riverbank High School in 1974.
She moved to Sweet Home, OR in 1979 and lived in the area until her death.
Roberta’s infectious spirit and hard work were most evident during her tenure as a manager at Towne Pump in Sweet Home. For over two decades, she ran the show with a conviction and feisty attitude that only she could carry off. Later, she continued her career at Safeway, until health issues prompted an early retirement.
To know her was to experience her love - an enduring, vibrant affection for her family. Her heart belonged especially to her grandchildren, whose sporting events and programs were simply never quite complete without her enthusiastic presence echoing in the stands.
Roberta leaves behind a loving family, including her “Old Man”, Calvin Carver, and her children, Michelle (Skip) Marler of Foster, OR, Clayton (Deshawnda) Carver of Sweet Home, OR and Gary (Heidi) Carver of Gresham, OR. She was a cherished grandmother to Nick (Terra) Marler, Trace Marler, Draeke Carver, Avery Carver, Wyatt Carver, Timmy (Sammy) Miller, and Racheal Miller, and a great-grandmother to Sophie Jean Marler and Harper Jo Miller. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard (Kathy) Robbins of Ceres, CA, Ronnie (Tami) Robbins of Oakdale, CA, George (Ruth) Robbins of Riverbank, CA, Barbara Campbell of Lebanon, OR, Mary “Tuddi” Brooks of Lebanon, OR, and Debbie (Rob) Funk of Smelterville, ID. Her extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Larry Carver-1979, her father Rex Robbins-1975, her mother Mary Robbins-1990, and her sister Gypsie Esprum-2021.
A celebration of life to honor Roberta will be held at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge on December 1, 2024 at 4 p.m. Anyone who knew or loved her is welcome to come.
