Nancy Baxter was born in Flint, Michigan in 1940. Her family moved to Oakdale, California in 1948 where she attended grade school and high school. After high school Nancy attended the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Child Development and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. After college, she moved to Oakland and began teaching second and third grade in Hayward.

Nancy met David at her apartment pool and ping pong table where they fell in love. In 1964 they married and lived in an apartment in Oakland until their daughter arrived. Nancy stopped teaching and they moved to Concord, CA. When their daughter was about to enter school, it was decided that a more conservative area would be preferable. In 1968, they moved to Indianapolis, IN where their son was born. In 1974, the family moved to Houston, living in Greenwood Forest.

When her son and daughter were in Junior High school, Nancy went back to Sam Houston State University and obtained a Masters in Library Science. She joined Klein school district as librarian at Haude Elementary followed by Wunderlich Intermediate. In 1992, Dave and Nancy built a house on Lake Conroe where they enjoyed retirement, including golfing, playing bridge, traveling to all seven continents, and taking their six grandchildren on graduation celebration foreign cruises. They moved to Atria, Cinco Ranch in 2021 then in 2023 they moved to Eagles Trace.

Nancy was preceded in death by parents Archie and Olive Pohl, and in-laws Paul and Irene Baxter.

Nancy is survived by husband David Baxter, brother Bill Pohl, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Paul Price, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Laura Baxter, and grandchildren Nathan and Matthew Price, and Kevin, Kyle, Megan and Rachel Baxter.

Herbert Axel Kangas, passed away on March 20, 2025, at his home in Tuolumne with long time loving partner Joy Hahn by his side. Herb was born on June 28, 1932 in Alexandria, MN. He later lived in Burbank, CA, where he met and married Patricia Ruth Kangas.
