Martha ‘Sue’ (McCown) Huff, 64, died Tuesday, April 10 after a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in Oakdale.
She was born to the late James Robert McCown Jr. and Gertrude Leah McCown in Odessa, Texas. She moved to San Jose with her family in 1960. She graduated from Pioneer High School in 1965 and went to work at United Technology Center in San Jose.
In 1980 she married Jack Huff and they purchased their home in the Cambrian area of San Jose. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and would probably have lived on a cruise ship if they could have.
From UTC she went to work for Signetics/Philips Semiconductors and stayed until retiring after more than 30 years.
While working full time she earned her B.S. Degree in Finance from USF in San Francisco.
She lived in Oakdale for approximately 10 years.
Mrs. Huff was a member of the Church of Christ and has been a faithful servant of the Lord since childhood.
She was loved and will be missed. Her family thanks her wonderful friends and family members for the many ways they helped during her illness. Visits, calls, cards, words, thoughts, and especially prayers were and still are warmly received.
She is survived by her brother, Jim (Brenda) McCown of Copperopolis; sister, Sandy Jones of Merced; stepsons, Steve and Ron Huff; and many nephews, great-nephews, nieces and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; brother, Cecil McCown and his son, Larry McCown; and sister, Jodie Mazzariello.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Central Church of Christ, 1170 Foxworthy Ave., San Jose.
