Joseph Thomas (Tom) Bicknell passed away on April 2, 2023 at Oak Valley Hospital in Oakdale at age 83.

Tom was born on August 11, 1939 in Butte MT. He moved with his family to Modesto at age seven. In spite of contracting childhood polio, he attended Enslen Elementary, Roosevelt J.H., and Downy H.S. and on March 22, 1969, he married Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Bennett, his loving and faithful wife of 54 years. After graduating from CSU Stanislaus, he became known as “Mr. Bicknell” teaching fourth and sixth grades for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District, a career which spanned 30 years.

He is survived by his wife Betty, sister Jo Marie, brothers Gary and Richard, daughter Michelle, daughter and son-in-law Renee and Christopher, and seven grandchildren; Evangeline, Joseph, Trinity, John, Christian, Glory, and Chris Jr.

A memorial service will be held at Hickman Community Church on April 22, 2023 at 11 a.m.
