John William Murphy was born September 16, 1933 and entered into rest May 30, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents John and Kathleen Murphy, sisters Patricia and Peggy Kellogg. Loving husband to Helen for 66 years; father of John (Ramona) Murphy, Debbie (Paul) De Bow, Joe (Paula) Murphy and Tammy (Paul) Zianno. Also survived by brother Frank (Janet) Murphy, 10 grandchildren, one great grandson, many nieces and nephews.

John was proud of his Irish heritage and roots in San Francisco where he was raised and graduated from Archbishop Riordan High School. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the US Army. Then he began his career in sheet metal, before becoming a SFPD mounted police officer. He moved his family to Oakdale in 1969 and retired as real estate broker. Buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA.
