Jack Louis Walker, 98, was released from Earth Life, after a brief illness. He was born, the only child, to Jesse and Neca Walker in Richmond, CA.

After serving in WWII, he attended and graduated from Cal Berkeley. He married and had a son, Paul. He then took a position as teacher and coach at Esparto High School. From Esparto he moved to Oakdale in the 1950’s, where he became fondly known as Coach Walker.

After his divorce from Paul’s mother, he was single for many years. He then met and married Elaine Gay and became stepfather to Betty, Mike, Rick and Charlie.

He taught and coached at Oakdale High School for over 30 years.

After his retirement, he and Elaine RV’d extensively throughout the states, making many friends and serving as Camp Hosts in Yellowstone.

After several years they moved to Green Valley (Fairfield) to care for Jack’s parents, who passed at ages 101 and 97.

Elaine passed in 2016. Jack’s son, Paul and his wife, Ellen came to live with Jack.

Jack was known for his dedication to fitness and helping people develop their talents. A humble man, he never sought for honors but many accolades came to him.

He leaves his son, Paul and wife, Ellen, Paul’s son, Richard, step-daughter, Betty (Doug) and their sons: Andy (Laura), Neil (Kelly), Brian (Ayako), Daniel (Erika), Dale (Gladys) and Ryan; Step-son Charlie (Karin) and their children: Sarah (Seth), Charlie, Becky (Tim), Jared (Hilary) and Matty (Brooke); Step-son Mike’s children: Serena Bird (Jim), Melinda Gay (Marza), Michael Vernon Gay and Mike’s wife, Anita, Rick’s sons Lance LeJaye and Brock LeJaye.
