Gary Don Williams, 85, of Oakdale, CA died of natural causes in his home on August 4, 2024. Mr. Williams was a native of Brookland, Arkansas and moved to Oakland, California in 1943. He then moved to Hayward and attended Tennyson Grammar School and the Old Hayward High School on Foothill Blvd. In 1960 Gary married his wife, Lorri, and they moved to Fremont in 1962, where they raised their children. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and then purchased/owned Roamers Lounge in Fremont and the Shuttle Lounge in Union City. In 1992 he moved to Oakdale, CA, where he started and ran the Whiskey River Saloon until he retired well into his seventies.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Williams-Weatheral and his granddaughter, Madison Weatheral, both of Oakdale, CA along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Inez Williams, his sister, Sandra Joy Johnson, his son, Troy Williams and his wife of 61 years, Lorraine “Lorri” Williams. He will always be loved and forever missed. There will be no service at his request. Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
