Gail Eloise Leach, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 13 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Manitoba, Canada and lived in North Dakota for many years. She moved to California in 1956 where she met and married her husband.
Mrs. Leach retired from Bordona’s Furniture Store after 25 years as a bookkeeper.
She was proud to be involved with the Children’s Guardian Home, where she served on the board of directors.
Her grandchildren were a big part of her life with their many activities. She also loved to travel and recently went to Germany to visit with her great-grandson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Leach; sons, Scott Leach of Modesto and Kevin (Concha) Leach of Oakdale; sisters, Janis (Loren) Wilson of Modesto, Sonja (Joe) Herndon of Oakdale, Renee Anderson of Oakdale; grandchildren, Amy (John) Huntley of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Germany, Gary Leach of Modesto, Taylor and Corey Leach of Oakdale; great-grandchild, Justin Huntley; one uncle; two aunts; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Edith Anderson; and brother, Michael Anderson.
A memorial service was held Sept. 19 at the Rivers Edge in Knights Ferry with Pastor Bob Irwin officiating.
