David Albert Chituras was born on April 29, 1942, in Modesto, California, to Charles C. Sr. and Althea (Hopkins) Chituras, passed at the age of 81 on August 26, 2023, in Salinas, CA.
He is survived by his son Charles C. Chituras III, grandson Ryan Chituras, granddaughter Chyane Chituras, former wife Nita (Wood) Chituras, brother Charles C. (Teresa) Chituras Jr, niece Charleen Chituras and cousin Marsha Rose McFall. He was predeceased by his parents, son Brian Chituras and niece Elisabeth Chituras.
David attended school in Empire and Modesto and graduated from Downey High in 1960. He then joined the US Marine Corps. He spent two tours in DaNang, Vietnam. David left the Marine Corps as a Sergeant. He then worked as a carpenter. David also became skilled in leather work and blacksmithing. His passion was black powder Rendezvous where David was well and fondly known as “Gypsy”.
