Consuelo Miranda Jose, beloved wife, mom, grandma and friend, peacefully passed away on October 21, 2018 in the company of family. Elo was born on February 2, 1935 to Mariano and Amparo Miranda in Hermano del Trabajo San Antonio, Cavite City, Philippines. It was here that she attended school, worked at Bautista and Elegant Tailoring as a seamstress, and was courted by her future husband Hector Jose. Elo and Hector were married in 1963 and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

After Hector joined the US Navy, Elo and her first daughter, Josephine (at this time two years old), traveled to the US in 1967. Elo recounted that having to leave behind everyone she loved and the hometown she cherished to start a new life in the US as a Navy wife was one of her scariest experiences.

Elo was a devoted homemaker and wife, relocating the family from naval base to naval base to be close to Hector. First  Atlanta, GA to San Diego, CA where Irene was born then Beeville, TX, Norfolk, VA and finally to Vallejo, CA, the city Elo called home for many years.

It was in Vallejo that Elo started working as a housekeeper at Silverado Country Club and after 10 years of hard work, was promoted to inspectress.

Elo was an excellent cook and baker, so much so that for a short time, she sold frozen lumpia, siopao and ensaymadas on the side. Along with her joy of cooking, Elo loved to sew, especially her daughters clothes.

Elo was a breast cancer survivor and after a sudden illness, relocated to the Central Valley in 2012.

In her life, Elo enjoyed attending the Nuestra Señora de Ia Soledad de Porta Vaga (Los Chabacanos) Cavite City Fiestas in San Diego and Vallejo, cruising to Alaska, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean Sea and playing slots at the casino. Most of all, her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband Hector, also known as Ecty, her daughters and son-in-laws, Josephine and Ron Tolentino of Vacaville and Irene and James Markel of Oakdale, her grandsons Ronald Jr. Tolentino, Nicholas Tolentino (Ariana), Andrew Markel (Gaby) and Jude Markel, her brother Berting S. Miranda (Agnus), and sister Letty Cruz (Ruben), Ludy Coronado, and Sarah Mamanta (Tony) and sister-in-law Patring Miranda of the Philippines.

Elo was preceded in death by her parents, as well as by her brother Godofredo S. Miranda.

Visitation will be at Colonial Chapels in Vallejo, CA on Sunday, November 4th and Monday, November 5th from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Vigil service with the prayer of the rosary will be on Monday, November 5th at 7 p.m. Prayer service will be on Tuesday, November 6th at 11:30 a.m. at Colonial Chapels in Vallejo, CA followed by the burial ceremony at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at 1:30 p.m.
