Bev, 86, was born in Angels Camp CA to Tone and Margaret Airola. As a young girl, Bev spent many summers in the mountains with her Dad, brothers and the family’s cattle. She graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1950 and received her B.A. in Physical Education from San Jose State in 1954. She taught her first year in Quincy, CA. The next year she moved to Oakdale and took a job teaching girls P.E. at Oakdale High School. It was in Oakdale where she met and married her husband James “Jim” Curtoni in 1957. They started a family in 1959 and she stayed home to take care of their children. Once their children were of school age she went back to substitute teaching at Oakdale High School.
Bev enjoyed drives to the mountains, ocean, and anywhere in between with her husband and family. They shared a lot of laughs together. Her happiest moments were spent with her family. Bev was a wonderful cook and baker and loved getting the family together for meals.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents Tone and Margaret Airola, husband Jim, son John Curtoni, brothers Bill Airola (Betty) and Lowell “Buzz” Airola (Jean). She is survived by her children Michael Curtoni (Jacquelyn), Mary Curtoni, Ann Curtoni Lial (Ray), daughter-in-law Lisa Curtoni, grandchildren Kittie Curtoni, Michael Curtoni, John Curtoni, Isabella Curtoni, great grandson Jake Wilson and brother Bob Airola.
