Longtime Oakdale City Manager Bryan Whitemyer, who has served in that role since 2013, has submitted his resignation. He has accepted the role of City Manager for the City of Folsom and his last day here will be March 6.
Oakdale Mayor Cherilyn Bairos praised Whitemyer for his leadership and commitment to the community.
“Bryan has been an exceptional leader and an advocate for the city’s growth and well-being. His impact on Oakdale is immeasurable, and we are grateful for his years of dedicated service,” Bairos said. “We wish him every success in his new role.”
Whitemyer has been a pivotal leader in Oakdale for over a decade, guiding the city through a period of growth and progress. During his tenure he has stabilized the city’s finances, enhanced public safety operations and developed comprehensive capital improvement plans that led to the construction of significant infrastructure improvements. The rehabilitation of North Third Avenue, construction of the Greger Sports Park, and remodel of the City Hall/Police Department building are a few of the most recent accomplishments under his leadership.
“Serving as City Manager for Oakdale has been an incredible honor,” said Whitemyer. “I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I am confident that the city is well-positioned for continued success. While I will deeply miss the Oakdale community, I am excited for the opportunity to serve the City of Folsom in the next chapter of my career.”
The Oakdale City Council will begin the process of recruiting a new City Manager in the coming weeks to ensure a seamless transition.
