If you’re looking for something a little different for breakfast fare, you need look no further than Waffle Bros.
Opening its doors earlier this fall, Waffle Bros has been well received by locals and those traveling through Oakdale on their way to and from the foothills. Managed by Dane Hauskens and Austin Romito, Oakdale natives, the menu features homemade Belgian Waffles and Boba Tea, among other things. They have also expanded to offer lunch and snack items as well as espresso beverages.
“We want people to enjoy the space and we take pride in being the only sit-down coffee shop on this side of town,” said Hauskens.
Located at 1080 W. F St. in Oakdale, they provide a nice alternative on the west side for some unique eats, sweets and beverages.
Partnering with local businesses such as The Grove Mercantile in Groveland to source their ice cream and Plant Patience in Oakdale to purchase the plants that add to the ambiance, Hauskens and Romito said that they take a lot of pride in supporting other local businesses. In addition to supporting local businesses, they are also featuring some local authors as well so you can stop by and pick up the latest books from writers including Abigail Hammond and Jane M. Bell to peruse while you’re enjoying your breakfast, lunch or snack.
They take pride in offering organic coffee and being the only spot in town where one can enjoy Boba Tea. Hauskens and Romito also credit their excellent employees with the success of Waffle Bros.
“We were able to retain some of the former staff members (from a prior eatery at the location) and they have been so great, offering suggestions on how to improve things,” said Romito.
Hauskens and Romito are also visiting local events and farmers’ markets to share their offerings and they are already looking toward the future. They are hoping to expand their services to catering for employee events and larger gatherings.
