Congratulations, Oakdale High Mustangs! What a varsity football game on Friday night, Sept. 22: Mustangs 49, Enochs 35.
With fall officially here, it’s time to share exciting news about our Fall Harvest Festival!
Our Valley Home Fall Harvest Festival is an event that brings our Valley Home School and our Valley Home community together. It is a very nice way for our school and community to work together to raise funds for our students. However, years ago when this event was created it had the same purpose that it serves today; it is not all about fundraising but much more than that. It is about community and about all of us coming together and enjoying this very special community we call home. It’s about celebrating the harvest season, the hard work that goes into harvesting the crops this time of year. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful, safe and peaceful community. The harvest season is in full swing right now, almonds, walnuts and so much more are being harvested, some seven days a week.
This year we will celebrate our Harvest Season on Saturday, October 28 at our Valley Home School. All are welcome and invited to attend this fun family-oriented community event. The Fall Harvest Festival will run from 6pm to 9 pm. Come one, come all. This is a rain or shine festival. This year we will celebrate under a beautiful Harvest, Hunter Moon. There will be something for everyone. There will be an amazing beef raffle, you might want to get your tickets early for this delicious raffle … proceeds from the Beef Raffle will go to help our sixth, seventh and eighth graders with expenses for their Washington DC trip. We will have carnival games, tons of prizes, a delightful pumpkin patch, it will be filled with beautiful fall pumpkins ready for you to take home and carve. Scarecrows and corn stalks will lead you to the fall pumpkin patch. There will be fun contests for all, we will have a costume contest parade, with the best costume receiving a great prize. Also, scarecrow, carved pumpkin, and best decorated pumpkin contests. We will also be having a milk drinking contest and a pie/pudding eating contest; fun for all. Come enjoy a great meal while playing a fun game of Bingo. Visit with friends and family, Valley Home is the place to be on October 28th.
We are excited to have visits from our amazing first responders: Fire, Sheriff and CHP Officers. We will have special recognition for those of you who have served, or are serving in our United States Military. For our first responders and our military, we will be serving you up a delicious piece of homemade pie. For those of you who are military and would like to come out to Valley Home and enjoy a piece of homemade pie, please give me, Winnie a call or a text, at 209-985-5233 and I will sign you up. We would love to honor you.
We will have a beautiful, well stocked silent auction; we appreciate the donations that are coming in very much. Each classroom will be offering a Class Basket that you may bid on and each basket includes delightful items and is filled to the brim.
Fun for the kids … there will be a petting zoo with Sierra 4-H, a scavenger hunt for hidden treasure, carnival games, cotton candy, sno cones, and buttery hot popcorn. Delightful dinner items will be available for your eating pleasure. More details on our delicious dinner foods to come.
