Thank you to all that came out, bought dinners or helped in any way on Saturday evening, Aug. 26 in Valley Home. Each of you were very greatly appreciated. Our Valley Home Fire House was the scene of beautiful show cars, show trucks, delicious food, ice cold lemonade, and wonderful fun for all. During the 6 o’clock hour everyone gathered near the front door of our Valley Home Fire House. A very special presentation to our late Valley Home Fire Chief Jerry Benedix would bring tears to the eyes of many. Long overdue, our Valley Home Fire Protection District dedicated a beautiful heartfelt plaque to our late chief.

Chief Jerry Benedix served our Valley Home community for over 50 years, we are forever grateful. A huge thank you to each of you who helped in any way to make this such a very special evening.

This week we would like to pay tribute to our beloved Bonnie. This coming week September 6, is Bonnie’s birthday. To our beautiful Valley Home bus driver and sweet angel, Mrs. Bonnie Gellerman, Happy Heavenly Birthday. Valley Home will never be the same without our beloved Bonnie.

On a very happy note, our Oakdale varsity football team played a tremendous game against Aptos High. Each of our Mustangs football teams are amazing. Our Varsity team won an extremely hard-fought game this past Friday night. We are very grateful to our coaches, school staff, and especially our Oakdale High Boosters. Thank you for taking such great care of our football players. They are always there for every team and every sport in so many different ways. After a very long trip back to Oakdale, the varsity players finally made it back home in the wee hours of the morning. We are so proud of our Oakdale High School Mustangs. A huge thank you to every person who supports our Oakdale High young people.
