Such a special day in Valley Home. This Saturday, August 26t, we will honor the memory and life of our former Valley Home Fire Chief, Jerry Benedix. Chief Benedix served our community over 50 years. Please join us at 6 pm, near the front of our Valley Home Fire Station as we gather to pay tribute to this amazing man who gave so much to his Valley Home community.

Please remember our Car Show and Tri Tip Dinner, along with our sixth, seventh, and eighth graders selling ice cold lemonade will also be happening at the Fire Station, 5 pm until 7:30 pm on Saturday evening.

Come one, come all, this Saturday, August 26th Free Clothes For All. Everyone, yes that’s right, everyone is invited to come to the Gene Bianchi Community Center in Oakdale from 9am until noon this Saturday and take home as many clothing items as they can use. This very special event happens each year at this time, and absolutely everyone is invited to partake.

What an exciting week for our Oakdale High School football teams. As you all know our Oakdale Mustangs are very well known and very highly respected throughout our area. This past week was no exception; we tip our hat to our mighty Mustangs! I know many of you reading this have either played Oakdale High School football or have supported Oakdale High School football in past years. I enjoy getting the messages and phone calls from those of you who several years later still follow your hometown team. Just like you all, the young men who take to the field in a Mustang jersey today, are stellar young men. They believe in working hard, practicing hard, and giving 100 percent. We are blessed to be part Mustang Country. This week the mighty Mustangs will play at Aptos. Good luck and God bless these amazing young men.
