Granddaughter, Millie Cox would like to thank all of you who supported her effort to raise funds for HONORBANDS. Millie and her friend Ashlan served up ice cold lemonade on Friday afternoon at the Valley Home Community Park. HONORBANDS is the non-profit organization that makes the black mourning bands law enforcement wear on their badges when a fellow officer is killed in the line of duty. A huge “Thank You” to all who donated. A very special “Thank You” to our first responders, California Highway Patrol-Modesto, Stanislaus County Sheriff Department, Oakdale Police Dept., Escalon Police Dept. and Modesto Fire. Thank you also to the representative from Assemblyman Heath Flora’s office, Channel 3 News, Channel 40 News, Channel 58 News, The Oakdale Leader, Modesto Bee, Valley Home School, Gypsy Cowgirl Kitchen and a HUGE “Thank You” to JR McCarty and Cost Less Market! It was a blessed day!

On Saturday this grandma went to Manteca to enjoy my 50th class reunion! Our class, “East Union High School Class of 1969” was the first graduating class from East Union High! It was a wonderful time, some of my classmates I had not seen in 50 years. It was crazy ... I remembered them as teenagers, now we are just a couple of years away from being 70 years old! Wow! Time goes by so fast! It truly was a very special day, lots of hugs, lots of joy, a time to remember our classmates who have passed, a time to say thank you to those who served in the military, we honored our friend, (much to his surprise) Don Jaramillo who was wounded in action in Vietnam on August 13, 1970! For this grandma the day was filled with tons of love and happy memories!

Supervisor Olsen’s Town Hall was very well attended! The panelists, Tom Orvis, Senator Andreas Borgeas, Heath Flora and JR McCarty shared a wealth of information and answered questions! It was a very informative evening. Thank you Supervisor Olsen!
