Hello to each of you. This week we pay tribute to every 4-Her and FFA young person who entered the ring during the Stanislaus County Fair. With temperatures soaring these young people gave 100 percent. A special “Thank You” to the hard working 4-H Leaders and FFA Advisors. Their dedication to our young people is unmatched … they truly are making a difference in many, many lives. Teaching, building confidence, encouraging, standing beside our young people, these positive role models are definitely making a difference. Our 4-Hers and FFA students are blessed with amazing parents and family members, many who work tirelessly to help their children, and every child around them. Parents and family members are known for bringing well stocked ice chests, often bringing enough to share every day of the fair with our young people … our children are blessed. There should be a special award for these wonderful adults. With this year being especially hot, these caring adults made sure our kids were hydrated and ready to go when it was their time in the ring. For these young showmen, most started raising their animals many months ago. Feeding, taking daily care of them; they become very attached to their animals. For many kids, Fair is a bittersweet time: showing their animals in the ring, making tons of new friends, having wonderful fun with old friends, then comes auction day. A bittersweet day for sure. For most, their Fair memories will convince them to do it again next year. Many of you reading this probably remember having great fun at the Fair, maybe even showing an animal. No matter how old, or how young we are, the Fair is definitely a place where many memories are made … memories that last a lifetime.
