Just a reminder, that our Valley Home School PTC members are currently involved with preparations for hosting their 2nd Annual Bunko Night on March 12th in the MPR/Gym. We are told that the group is in need of card tables and chairs for the event. If anyone has some they would be willing to loan for the event, please call Lisa at 847-3178 so arrangements can be made to pick them up.

We share the exciting news that our school PTC has booked two great assemblies for the students. The end of the year will be full of fun with Jog-A-Thon class parties and assemblies thanks to your help collecting pennies. We thank everyone for their help and support as we continue to work together to earn funds to help in educating our children.

The Valley Home Community Center board of directors met this last week to review what had been accomplished on the planned community park. They then set a priority list for items yet to be completed. After the next five projects were selected they then were prioritized giving the board a list of what is next to do in what order. A goal was set to try and get these projects completed by the next meeting in February but this most likely will be influenced by the weather. The other bit of news was the announcement by Chairman Perez that three more residents (Sean Sinclair, Dwane Dykstra and Paul Mattos) have joined the group of volunteers to help in the park project. Board Secretary Glenn Burghardt is preparing letters of appreciation to send to those persons already having volunteered their services along with a Donation Receipt in the event the party wishes to use the labor contribution as an IRS tax deduction.

A generator was provided by Steven Gratigny & James McCormack of Wilkins Pump/Knickerbocker Electric Inc. and they inspected and tested the well water pump and pronounced it well and working. Paul Mattos assisted in the repair of the well water tank. After PG&E provides the electric power well water will be available. A cleanup of the park site was accomplished by Chairman Perez, wife Linda and Treasurer Sharon Furtado with a borrowed tractor.  With continued help from residents the Valley Home Community Park will soon be a completed entity.

New council members Sharon Hofmann and Nancy Osmundson will be welcomed by the residents of Valley Home. In addition, reports will be provided as usual by representatives from the county sheriff and other departments, California Highway Patrol, Oakdale Rural Fire District and Valley Home Joint School.
