This past weekend was a busy weekend for Miss Claire Beltrami. Claire and her big brother Audie both play sports and are very busy this time of year. This past Saturday Claire decided to add a bit more to her busy schedule. With her big brother’s help and guidance Claire set up a small stand in front of her Valley Home driveway. Claire had beautiful fresh ranch eggs, juicy orange tangerines, tasty bright yellow lemons and earthy fresh rosemary for sale. She and big brother Audie worked all day serving several folks who stopped by to purchase items. They actually ran out of their beautiful farm fresh eggs. By midafternoon, they were down to just a couple of lemons and a handful of tangerines. My family was fortunate enough to be able to purchase some delicious tangerines and some great tasting lemons. Next time we will get there earlier and hopefully be able to purchase some of those yummy farm fresh eggs, before they are all gone. What a great experience for Claire and Audie; we appreciate you both. It definitely was a special day in Valley Home.

I was so happy to hear that Valley Home’s very own Lisa Cox is feeling much, much better. Lisa has one of the most beautiful voices. Each Sunday, you will find her at our Baptist Church in Valley Home, singing and welcoming folks in to the church. If any of you are looking for a wonderful church for worship and fellowship … our Valley Home churches both would love to welcome you inside to worship with them.

Our Valley Home School upper classes had a wonderful ski trip to the mountains. While some skied the mountain, others enjoyed snowboarding and all had a great time at Dodge Ridge. We very much appreciate the parents and school staff that went along on this fun trip.

This week I would like to say a huge “Thank You” to an amazing and very hard-working woman. Our Oakdale Leader Editor Marg Jackson, in my opinion, is a super hero. She is constantly running from one destination to another … always determined to be there for an important story. She is dedicated to bringing our hometown news and our hometown stories to us. I am not sure when this amazing super woman has time to sleep or eat … but I want her to know how deeply she is appreciated. Marg, I know this will embarrass you; you are such a humble, loving and giving person … but please accept this small bit of appreciation; we love you so much. Thank you for all you do.
