Hello to each of you. I hope you are having a very nice week.

This Saturday, November 11th we will honor our veterans, each of our veterans, with a wonderful parade in Oakdale. The parade will line up at 9 a.m. at the FES Hall. Decorate a float, decorate your vehicle, decorate your bicycle … let’s show our veterans how very much we appreciate them. Parade start time is 10 a.m. with a very special ceremony at 11 a.m. to honor our veterans at Fish Park. Please be sure to come out, bring your comfy chair, your flag if you have one, your smiles and be ready to wave and cheer on our veterans.

What a special night it was last Saturday evening in our community. Our community came together to support the Hartzell/Mahan family. It was a beautiful night; a delicious dinner of barbecued ribs and chicken, with great items to bid on, it was a full house at the Oakdale Saddle Club to support this very special family. Thank you to all!

I am excited to report that Amanda Osmundson, member of Oakdale High FFA, traveled to the 96th Annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana this past weekend. Amanda was excited and honored to win the National Award for her Beef Production Placement Proficiency. She has worked with the Osmundson family business, Valley Home Beefmasters, and took her knowledge learned from Dr. Doug and Dr. Lori from Lander Vet and Dr. Garcia from Precision Embryonics to complete her application. With the help of the Oakdale High School Ag Department, she was able to turn experiences into a format to write descriptions of her time working with the Beefmaster Cattle to partake in interviews at the State and National level. Congratulations Amanda we are all so very proud of you.

I hope you all are planning to attend this Friday night’s Oakdale High Mustang football game. It’s exciting to be in the playoffs. Our football players have worked very, very hard, getting up at 5 a.m. to head to school before daybreak to work out and condition to be the best. We especially appreciate our head coach and his excellent team of assistant coaches; Oakdale High is blessed with the best. This Friday night our Mustangs will play Merced here at home at The Corral. Please come out and support your 2023 Oakdale High Mustang football team. Go Mustangs!
