Hello to you each of you. It’s so nice to see the autumn leaves falling … changing colors, such vibrant rustic browns, oranges and yellows. I hope you are all well and are enjoying this beautiful fall harvest season.

This week I would like to invite each of you to support an amazing young man. Wyatt Jones is 17 years old and was diagnosed with leukemia this past January. Wyatt has spent most of the past year in the hospital. This year our community and our school will be supporting Wyatt and his family with a delicious Tri Tip BBQ Dinner at our Valley Home Fall Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 26th. All proceeds from the Tri Tip dinner will 100 percent go to Wyatt and his family. The dinner will include BBQ Tri Tip, Valley Home Community Cookbook beans, dinner roll and garden salad. The dinner is $15 and will be served at the Harvest Festival from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We are hoping Wyatt will be out of the hospital and be able to join us for part of the evening. Reservations for dinner are not necessary, but will help us with knowing how much to purchase for dinner supplies. If you would like to reserve a dinner please call or text me, Winnie, at 209-985-5233. Thank you to those that have already gotten in touch with me and reserved dinners. Your support for this brave young man is greatly appreciated.
Our Valley Home Fall Harvest Festival was started many, many years ago as a way for our school and community to come together and celebrate our way of life and our harvest season. We are blessed.
Our First Responders will be attending, and would love to visit with each of you. There will be great fun for all. Bingo will be exciting for all ages; come visit Joanie as she calls out those winning numbers. Bingo will be inside the gym. Our Harvest Kitchen (inside the gym) will be serving hot dogs, nachos, chili, and more … or come by outside near the BBQ Wagon and purchase a Tri Tip BBQ dinner to support Wyatt. Sit outside or go inside to eat and play Bingo during dinner. Enjoy a delightful petting zoo, presented by Sierra 4-H. There will be cowboy roping with Waylon and the cowboys and the cowgirls; fun games for all ages with a festive cake walk, a wonderful harvest silent auction and class baskets with many exciting items to bid on. There will be a delicious, delectable, sweet shoppe filled with yummy fall treats … autumn apple fritters, pumpkin pie, caramel apples, and many other treats waiting for you. We will have a Harvest Hollow Pumpkin Patch, pumpkin roll, scarecrow contest, decorated/carved pumpkin contests (made and brought from home), pie eating contest, milk drinking contest … and much more. Visit our old-fashioned popcorn cart and grab a warm hot buttery bag of freshly popped popcorn or head on over to the bright pink cotton candy booth, so fluffy and fun to eat. Feel young again as you visit the Kiddie Area; enjoy the amazing talents of our Harvest face painter Jaimie. When it gets completely dark, approximately 7:15pm, come ride … if you dare … our Haunted Valley Home Hayride. Creeps and haunted creatures await you along the hayride route. Our Valley Home Fall Harvest Festival is from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Valley Home School on Saturday, October 26th. Come enjoy the evening with us in Valley Home. There will be plenty of room to sit and visit with your neighbors or feel free to bring your own comfy chair and just enjoy the evening. Questions, please call Winnie at 209-985-5233.
