Hello everyone; I hope you are all well and enjoying this beautiful sunny weather.

This week we pay tribute to the life of an amazing young man, Wyatt Jones. “For this child we have prayed.” Wyatt battled leukemia for the last year of his life. He was diagnosed in January of 2024 at 17-years-old. Wyatt turned 18 on December 21st, 2024 … he was an amazing warrior. He battled this horrific disease with his loving family and many dear friends throughout this last year. Wyatt Clayton Jones passed away on January 6th, 2025. His sweet mother, Amanda, and a very close friend were driving back home to Oakdale later that evening; their hearts were heavy. They both noticed the sky … the evening sunset was one of the most radiant, most beautiful sunsets they had ever seen. It truly felt like Wyatt was helping God paint that blazing, brilliantly colored western sunset.
Wyatt had many talents, one of his most amazing talents was that as an artist. Wyatt’s legacy includes many of his very special art works.
Wyatt was also a goat rancher for 14 years. He loved taking care of his goats. Wyatt also loved rodeo; one of his favorite places to be was at the rodeo grounds, he loved everything about rodeo.
The next morning after Wyatt’s passing, his grandpa went out very early in the cold frosty morning to feed Wyatt’s beloved goats. He would take time to visit with each one and he made sure each one got an extra scoop of feed. He knew Wyatt was walking beside him.
Wyatt was loved very deeply by his family. Wyatt had a multitude of people who loved him dearly. Wyatt’s family would like to send a huge “Thank You” to all who have supported him in any way during this journey. You are all very deeply appreciated.
A Celebration of Life for Wyatt will be held on Saturday, February 8th at the Oakdale Saddle Club from 11am until 3 pm. Please, the family would appreciate that we do not wear mourning colors … Wyatt was a happy young man; let’s celebrate his life together. Wyatt was also an entrepreneur, his family would also like to ask that for those that have any of Wyatt’s “Wyatt the Warrior” shirts, please wear them on February 8th. May God bless and bring comfort to Wyatt’s loving family.
