This past weekend found a group of hard-working Valley Home young men heading to the hills to work cattle. Tyler Bianchi, Leon Airola, Rowdy Sphar, and Cooper Bartholomew traveled to the hills with rancher Jason Airola. The next day found two of these boys, Rowdy and Cooper, back at work, again working cattle in the hills, this time with rancher Johnny Sphar.

Signs of a beautiful spring in Valley Home; lovely spring flowers are starting to bloom all over in our area. They are so colorful, and each with a delightful fragrance of its own, what a nice time for a beautiful drive!

Our MAC Meeting was very well attended this past week. With issues of animals being killed and maimed by dogs in our area and issues of late night, sometimes very loud overnight music, it was important for folks to be heard! We are very thankful to our public officials who attended and shared information on these important neighborhood issues. Thank you to our County Supervisor Buck Condit for always coming to our meetings. Please call Buck or his hard working and very dedicated assistant Megan Wells at 209-525-6464 with your questions or concerns. We are very grateful to Bill Martins, Stanislaus Public Works, for coming out to our meeting. Bill is always willing to listen to our concerns and immediately always does his best to take care of any issues. Thank you for patching and repairing the pot holes that are so troublesome.

Thank you to our fire department board members Paul Rivera and Steve Guerrero for bringing important information to our meeting. It is important that we work together to reopen our Valley Home Fire Station. It will be a lot of hard work but to protect our community and our schoolchildren it is so much worth it! I understand we will probably need to pay a few more dollars but truly, from my heart I can tell you it will be worth it, especially if the call you have to make is life or death and it is someone you love with all your heart. We appreciate our Modesto Fire Department Battalion Chief Bret Presson for coming to our meeting and sharing information with us. Thank you to our Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputy Bret Babbitt; he is our Valley Home Community Resource Officer and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He may be reached by email at bbabbitt@stansheriff.com

We are very thankful to CHP Officer Eric Moore, who shared great information with us. Our area will be getting a new CHP Officer. This doesn’t happen often; we are so excited to hear such great news! After hearing many concerns about speeding cars and stop signs repeatedly being ran, Officer Moore will work on having more coverage in our area as often as he can.

A very special thank you to Jennifer Marsh and Marcela Berbe, BHRS, from Stanislaus County. These two ladies presented a tremendous amount of knowledge concerning the Fentanyl crisis that is facing our county and facing our communities! They shared important information on saving lives and the importance of talking with our children about the dangers associated with all drugs. Opioid Overdose Prevention Kits were available to all who would like to take one home with them. We appreciate Jennifer and Marcela sharing this important and lifesaving information with our community.

Thank you to our Valley Home School Superintendent Bill Slikker, who brought important information about our school activities and shared that our students raised close to $25,000 during their school Jog a Thon. That is absolutely amazing! We are so grateful to each of you who supported our students and to all who worked so hard to make our Jog a Thon a reality. A very special thank you to Cassie Fullen and her amazing crew for their hard work!

Please remember Saturday, April 29 is clean-up day in Valley Home. Two big garbage bins will be placed at the Pioneer campus; members of our community are welcome and encouraged to use them. Please call Jessica Caudle with any questions at 925-998-7850.

We also send a huge thank you to Supervisor Buck Condit and Jessica Caudle for working so hard to secure funding for a beautiful sidewalk that will allow our students and staff to walk safely between the Texas campus and the Pioneer campus.
