Easter Blessings to each of you … He is Risen! What a special Easter it was in Valley Home. It was a beautiful sunshine filled Easter Day; many families enjoyed spending this special day together throughout Valley Home.

For me, and several members of my family, we were blessed to be able to attend Easter Sunrise Services at our Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church. It was a beautiful sunrise service. With the early morning sun just coming, beautiful snow-capped mountains in the far distance; folks gathered together outdoors in the crisp morning air. Easter morning in Valley Home was beautiful weather and radiant sunshine. Easter sunrise in Valley Home was spectacular. He has Risen! The colors in the early morning sky were magnificent … definitely God’s amazing hands at work!

A peaceful drive throughout our Valley Home community on Easter Day was a great blessing indeed. We were able to see Claire Taro’s beautiful and sweet-smelling lilacs beginning to bloom. We saw hundreds of brightly colored Easter eggs hiding in our Valley Home Community Park … the Easter bunny must have visited Valley Home very early on Easter Day! As we drove along the roadside in our beautiful Valley Home, we saw pretty flowers, iris and wild roses were just starting their springtime blooming season. Delicate primroses were a sight to see, tiny miniature roses were growing up fence posts in many yards. A short drive to Woodward and we saw California poppies peeking out along the banks, the sparkling crystal water shimmered in the afternoon sunlight … we watched as wild geese landed on small waves, gentle waves created by a lone fishing boat. Although no human contact with the water is allowed right now, fishermen were still enjoying a beautiful Easter Day.

This year we were all treated to an amazing Oakdale Rodeo Parade. What a fabulous parade; so exciting to see Oakdale Saddle Club leading the parade along with our beautiful Rodeo Queens waving to a packed crowd. As always Hummer Trucking was an important part of the parade, the generations of Rocha Trucks were a real crowd pleaser. The huge gorgeous oxen, the beautiful carriage that carried our Oakdale Mayor Cher Bairos, such a grand sight. Later, the most exciting Oakdale Rodeo took place. A record crowd came to watch world famous cowboys show their amazing talent. Excitement was high as several local and extremely talented cowboys took center stage.

What a tremendous weekend it was. A special and heartfelt “Thank You” to our Oakdale Saddle Club!
