More than 700 kids were on hand on Friday, Oct. 18 to jog their way through neon yellow, green, pink and purple blasts of color to raise money for future field trips and student activities at Oakdale Junior High School. For more than five years, OJHS has been hosting this festive Color Run event and it continues to be a crowd pleaser for the teachers, parents and most of all, the students.

Students raise money and decorate T-shirts that they wear during the run that takes them around the track, outside to Cottles Woods Park and then back again to the front of the school and eventually back to the field near the track. Throughout their run, teachers were tossing the brightly colored powder on them as they ran through each station. Some students made it through the course without getting too much color on them but some students opted to slow down as they approached the stations, collecting as much color as they could.

The Friday afternoon weather was picture perfect for the fun run.
