Service Learning with Impact: How one criminal justice course is changing perspectives. Led by Stanislaus State Assistant Professor Sebastian Sclofsky, criminal justice majors involved in a service learning course step out of the classroom and into the community and gain invaluable insights into the complexities of policing.

 

Alumnus Triumphs over Challenges

Inspired by his brother’s medical journey and his own injury, Stanislaus State graduate Gurjoban “Gore” Hayer turned pain into purpose and a passion to help others and has gone on to excel in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

From Warrior to Water Leader

As the general manager of the Modesto Irrigation District (MID), Stan State graduate Jimi Netniss makes sure Modesto, eight smaller San Joaquin Valley communities and 160 square miles of area farmland have reliable supplies of electricity, drinking water and irrigation water. A bit of Warrior history was made when he was appointed to the position last spring: it marked the beginning of California’s two oldest irrigation systems being managed by Stanislaus State alumni.
