Oakdale will play host to a parade and special ceremony to honor all veterans on Monday, Nov. 11.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m., following a route from the FES Hall on North Lee Avenue, turning west on to Pontiac Street and continuing to Fish Park. At the park, residents are encouraged to attend a ceremony with some guest speakers, a flag retirement ceremony conducted by local scouts, followed by a free lunch.
Featured speaker Jason Dillon, a local veteran and businessman, will be offering some remarks at the ceremony.
“We are looking forward to another great event this year, honoring our veterans,” said Oakdale Mayor Cher Bairos, one of the organizers of the Nov. 11 event.
