Sip And Shop Slated For Downtown Area
sip 1018

Get into the spooky spirit with the first Sip and Shop Witches Walk in downtown Oakdale, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

With a number of downtown shops participating, community members are invited to dress up in their scary finest, eat, drink, and shop the downtown businesses while enjoying the wicked treats, discounts, prizes, and raffle drawings. You can dress up or just come for the witch-watching.

Tiffany Trunnell, owner of Boutiques at Tiffany’s, got the idea from a similar event in Murphys, realizing with the newly completed Third Avenue project in Oakdale, it would be a great opportunity to draw people back to the shops.

According to Trunnell, every shop will have something you can purchase to drink, which will earn you a raffle ticket.

“The raffle winners of the gift cards will be drawn at 5 p.m.,” she said.

There’s a limit of one raffle ticket per store.

There will also be face painting available for kids at $10 per design.

Trunnell said, “I want it to be a fun downtown experience. Hopefully, it’ll get people out, dressed up and bring the community together.”

Also hoping to make it an annual event, next year plans include closing the road and adding vendors, dress-up contests, and pumpkin carving contests.

This year, they’ll start a little smaller but go in with high hopes.

“We’re looking forward to seeing people dress up and participate,” Trunnell said.
