Several projects are still in need of volunteers, as the community gears up for the Love Oakdale work day on Saturday, April 26.
A part of the Love Stanislaus County initiative, the 2025 citywide volunteer day in Oakdale will kick off at 8 a.m. with a rally at the Oakdale Community Park along South Yosemite, with workers fanning out from there to take on their projects.
Each has at least one designated project leader, working with a team to get the job done. This is a one-day effort that typically draws hundreds of volunteers to serve the community.
There are projects to benefit schools, area veterans, non-profit groups and more with a number of opportunities to serve.
Military care packages will be put together, Bags of Compassion for Without Permission will be put together, beautification work is due on the campus of Cloverland Elementary School, volunteers are needed for the Magnolia Elementary School Garden project, clean up and beautification of Oakdale Community Sharing is planned; and those are just a few of the projects on the schedule.
Also, fire hydrant painting, fence and home repairs for veterans, work for senior citizens at the Haven Inn Mobile Home Park; all these efforts are looking for more volunteers.
Additional details about the various projects are available by logging on to the Love Oakdale website at loveoakdale.com and you can register there to take part in the April 26 work day.
