A special adoption event is on the calendar; the Oakdale Museum and History Center at 212 W. F St., Oakdale, will host a pet adoption on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Museum officials said they have teamed up with Sheryl Davidson and her Oakdale Tiny Paws Rescue for the event.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; those planning to attend can park in the back of the museum and come see a variety of puppies available for adoption.

According to Tiny Paws, all of their adoptable dogs have been rescued “in order to life a better life.” The adoption fees offset the cost of spay/neuter, shots and microchips.

“She (Davidson) has a team of foster families throughout the area who help her take in rescued dogs and puppies,” noted Barbara Torres of the Museum and History Center. “They make sure the dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and chipped, prior to adoption.”

Usually, Tiny Paws hosts their weekly events at Petco in Riverbank or 511 Tactical in Turlock.

“But this time, we’re providing an outdoor event with lots of family friendly food, games and entertainment,” Torres noted.

There will also be some specialty vendors on site, music, raffle prizes, food and beverages and the chance to adopt a new family pet.
