Saturday “Bash” Seeking Donations And Volunteers
oes

All in the community are encouraged to join the fun as the Oakdale Enrichment Society is putting on its annual Fourth of July-themed celebration: The All American Bash. Date for the event is this Saturday, June 24, as it has always been staged on the last Saturday in June.

Oakdale Enrichment Society Vice President Cher Bairos said the event is designed to provide some family friendly fun and will start with a parade and include an evening of music as well as food and activities for kids.

“Parade line up is at 3 p.m. at the FES Hall,” Bairos said.

The parade steps off at 4 p.m. from Oak and Poplar and heads east on E Street, then turns north on Second Avenue.

“We need parade volunteers,” she added, with people being sought to help along the parade route. Those interested can go to the website for more information, enrichoakdale.org.

Following the parade, a full slate of bands will provide music for the evening at Dorada Park, adjacent to the swimming pool, The Plunge. Music starts at 5 p.m.; there will also be some food trucks and service clubs on hand with food and beverages for sale as well as an opportunity to swim, as the pool will be open. There will be a variety of activities in a Kids Zone for youngsters.

Donations to help offset costs of the event are still being accepted as well.

“Any amount is greatly appreciated,” said Bairos.

Community members or businesses interested in helping or donating can contact Bairos by text at 209-496-1134; or e-mail oes95361@gmail.com.
