With pickleball being the fastest growing sport in the country, Oakdale Golf and Country Club will unveil its newly installed and ready-for-play courts at a ribbon cutting on Friday, July 12.

The event is scheduled at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns, at 5:30 p.m. with the official opening of the new eight court Pickleball Complex. Mayor Cherilyn Bairos and other Oakdale council members and city officials are scheduled to be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. There will be complimentary appetizers and refreshments. Country Club members, their invited guests, and anyone interested in learning more about membership at the club are welcome to attend.

General Manager Mike Dowd said the courts are a great addition for the club and community, and this is just one in a series of continuing improvements at the North Stearns club location.

“It’s our goal to become continually more appealing to more and more of the Oakdale citizenry, as well as more integral to the lifestyle of Oakdale families,” Dowd said. “Our club has quite a story, founded by a handful of citizens and serving the Oakdale community since 1961, and we want to ensure the newer generation of citizens settling in Oakdale know our history and all that we have to offer.”
