Results show Measure G at 57 percent support

With totals reported following the close of the polls on Nov. 5, the $105.5 million General Obligation bond – Measure G – for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District had garnered 57 percent support. The unofficial count was 5,352 ‘yes’ votes and 4,026 ‘no’ votes, for a 57 to 43 percent margin in favor of the bond. It had to reach the 55 percent approval level; though results are unofficial it appears as though the bond was passed.

In a race for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District Board, Area 3, incumbent Tina Shatswell had a 58 to 42 percent lead, 739 votes to 671, over challenger Spencer Cooper.

For the Oakdale City Council, unofficial results showed Jarod Pitassi with 37 percent of the vote at 3,229 votes; followed by Jeff Kettering, 26 percent with 2,526 votes. Justin Biedinger had 2,084 votes for 25 percent; Caitlyn Barreda had 1,059 votes for 13 percent. The top two vote getters will earn the two available four-year terms on the council.

In the race for OID Division 4, challenger Jacob DeBoer had 66 percent of the vote with 34 percent going to incumbent Linda Santos; DeBoer leading with 893 votes to 371.

Voting for two available seats on the Oak Valley Hospital District board showed Sara West-Shipman leading the way with 43 percent and 5,456 votes. Running second was Shirrelle O. Moore Mmasi with 4,155 votes for 33 percent and Danielle Sanders was at 24 percent with 3,116 votes.

All of the vote totals are unofficial but were the latest available from the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters as of Wednesday morning, Nov 6.
