Restoration underway for Oakdale’s iconic mural
Arts

An old favorite is getting a facelift.

The restoration of the iconic Oakdale mural is set to begin this week with the artist Aaron “Fasm” Vickery completing the restoration. Vickery and his colleague Cameron “Camer1SF” Moberg installed the mural just over four years ago and now with general wear and tear on the building and the mural wall at the corner of North Yosemite and East E Street downtown, Vickery will restore it to its original glory.

Through the generosity of the Oakdale community and the original sponsors of the mural, Kelly and Matt Budine, owners of the popular Bistro 120, the mural restoration is set to be completed this month. If you would like to support the restoration you can purchase some OakdaleARTS Fall Basket raffle tickets, which includes prize baskets with tickets to Sierra Repertory Theatre, dinner for four at House of Beef and various gift certificates to local favorites including Bloomingcamp Ranch and Roberts Ferry Gourmet.

Tickets can be purchased at Gallery Custom Framing, 132 N. Third Ave., in Oakdale, or online at OakdaleARTS.org. Raffle tickets will be drawn on Thursday, Oct. 17 and winners will be notified accordingly.
