Cooler temperatures this week are a harbinger of the autumn season to come; and SONS Farm Fresh is getting ready to open its seasonal Pumpkin Village. The sibling-run fruit stand business is at 1936 E. F St., Oakdale, and opening day for the Pumpkin Village is Friday, Sept. 13.

It will be open every day through the end of October, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and entry to the Pumpkin Village is free.

There are fun activities and photo ops open every day as well, with plenty to keep kids of all ages busy. Visit the petting zoo with goats, bunnies, ponies, tortoises and more; the creepy crawlies also return and will include snakes, Madagascar hissing cockroaches, lizards, frogs and more.

Other seasonal favorites are a haunted maze, corn pits, hay maze, gem mining, the flower wall, pumpkin house, pumpkin pond and a variety of unique pumpkins available for purchase. Some of the activities are free; others do have an admission fee.

A special weekend feature is the chance to purchase and enjoy a variety of desserts, pretzels and drinks every Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The local business is operated by the four ‘son’ siblings: Madison, Jackson, Allison and Hudson.
