Progress with Purpose highlights non-profits
partners

Stanislaus Community Foundation officials have announced the selection of 10 local nonprofit organizations – including the Oakdale-based ASTRO Foundation – to participate in a Human Resources accelerator program offered through the Porges Nonprofit Excellence Initiative. Progress with Purpose is an eight-week program, created in partnership with San Diego-based Mission Edge.

Progress with Purpose is designed to cover comprehensive Human Resources concepts and equip nonprofits with essential HR knowledge, enabling them to operate in an impactful and compliant manner. Participants will benefit from both one-on-one and group learning opportunities – ensuring a collaborative learning experience.

The 2024 Progress with Purpose participants are: ASTRO, the Animal Shelter to Riverbank and Oakdale, Foundation; City Ministry Network; HAVEN – Healthy Alternative to Violent Environments; Modesto Children’s Museum; Modesto Gospel Mission, Inc.; Second Harvest of the Greater Valley; Stanislaus County Police Activities League; Stanislaus Partners in Education; West Modesto Community Collaborative; and Without Permission, Inc.

“Congratulations to those selected to participate in this year’s Progress with Purpose program,” said local philanthropist Evan Porges. “Providing nonprofits with the tools to manage their teams effectively, retain staff, and create a positive work environment allows them to focus on what matters most: serving our community.”
