Pavement rehabilitation project impacts SR-120 traffic
120

Caltrans, the California Department of Transportation, is preparing to begin a pavement rehabilitation project to repair the roadway surface and improve motorist safety at several locations along State Route 120 (SR-120) in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.

The project will make various pavement repairs on the highway including the application of polyester concrete overlays on bridge decks, and hot mix asphalt, rubberized and cold plane asphalt concrete to extend service life, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve reliability and safety for motorists. Work will occur on Highway 120 in multiple locations. Those include:

Stanislaus River Bridge near Victory Avenue at the San Joaquin/Stanislaus County line between Escalon and Oakdale;

Westbound SR-120 at Guthmiller Road;

Eastbound and westbound SR-120 at McKinley Avenue;

Eastbound and westbound SR-120 at Spreckels Avenue;

Connector ramp from eastbound SR-120 to northbound SR-99;

Connector ramp from northbound SR-99 to westbound SR-120.

The project is set to begin the week of Aug. 11 through 17, 2024, and is scheduled for 60 working days with completion expected by November 2024.

Work will occur Sunday nights through Thursday nights and motorists should expect overnight, alternating lane closures on SR-120 and connector ramp closures at SR-99/SR-120. Caltrans will have overhead and roadside signage alerting motorists of the closures.

This $1.9 million maintenance project will be performed by Truesdell Corporation of California, Inc. of Tempe, Arizona. Future traffic advisories will include lane closure details.

Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
