After completing a comprehensive recruitment process, the Oakdale Police Department announced the promotion of Andrew Stever to the rank of Police Lieutenant.
Stever began his law enforcement career at the age of 17 as a police explorer with the Oakdale Police Department. Stever has since served in a variety of roles with the Oakdale Police Department including community service officer, police officer, range master, drug recognition expert, motor officer, detective, K9 handler, and sergeant.
The newly promoted officer was born and raised in Oakdale where he attended and graduated from Oakdale High School. Stever said he is proud to be serving the community that he has always called home. He married his high school sweetheart and they are expecting their fifth child.
During his off time, he enjoys duck hunting, rafting on the Stanislaus River, and spending time with his family.
“Lieutenant Stever brings a vast amount of knowledge of our community and our department to his new role,” said Police Chief Jerry Ramar. “He is an asset to Oakdale and the Oakdale Police Department. It is nice to see someone with the devotion that Lieutenant Stever has for the City of Oakdale and his community, serve in this capacity.”
