Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 9.8.21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Aug. 31 through Monday, Sept. 6. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, SEPT. 6

No time or specific location listed – Battalion 5, Engine-28 and Engine-29 responded to an ATV accident. One rider was airlifted to a local hospital.

 

SUNDAY, SEPT. 5

Battalion Chief 5 reviewed monthly operational notes with Battalion 5 companies.

Engine 27 conducted company level training.

4:45 p.m. – Engine 29, Engine 28, Engine 27, Cal Fire Engine 583 and Battalion Chief 5 responded to a rescue in Knights Ferry near the covered bridge for an injured fall victim. Crews made access to the victim and began initial patient care. A rope system was utilized to remove the patient in a stokes basket from a large crevasse. The patient was flown via air-ambulance to a local emergency room with major injuries. Cal Fire TCU, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and Army Corp assisted with the rescue.

 

SATURDAY, SEPT. 4

Crews assigned to the Caldor fire are doing well, working long hours, and making a difference. Task Force 4202C has been working 24 hour shifts in the Sly Park area, TF 4204C is working 12 hour shifts in the Christmas/Pioneer area providing structure protection. Strike Team XTB4233C continues to work 24 hour shifts in the Strawberry area, they were on a 24-hour rest period today.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1

Modesto Grass 27, Water Tender 27 and Battalion Chief 5 assisted Oakdale High School ROP class with a class presentation.
